DIY Flower Crown Workshop

DIY flower crown workshops are super popular here at Oh Flora.  I've offered there since the start of Oh Flora and absolutely love all the lovely ladies and brides-to-be I meet when I'm invited out to run a workshop for a special occasion.. seriously, it is a VERY rare occasion when my clients aren't the best clients ever.. they are all just so lovely!!  I feel very blessed :)

A little while ago I threw a DIY crown workshop for my super sweet friend Laura (who only just said 'I do' a couple of weeks ago now!).  I picked up some champagne, organised some yummy punch & nibbles, prepped the flowers and styled the yard a little then poured myself a wine and waited for Laura and her guests to arrive. . 

Sophie from thelittlestthings.com came over to shoot all the prettiness of the day.  I truly admire her work, everything is always just so perfect!  You know when you meet someone who just gets you?  Well thats her to me.  Of course when I work with Soph, I know the images she will produce will be absolutely stunning but then when I get them I just sit there and look at them in awe, and annoy my boyfriend Matteo for half an hour with "look, look, LOOOOK!!!".  The way she captures my work and events we work on together is just breathtaking 
EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

It was such a fun day, the champagne was flowing (literally) and all the girls looked gorgeous!!

I love how every time I run a flower crown workshop, all the girls have the same types of flowers to use, and every time, everyone really personalises their crown.. each always looks so different.

They're all just so beautiful!!!!

Road Trip To Mudgee

Late last year I came across Mudgee Made Roses on Instagram, Tanya and I (yep same name!) soon became 'instafriends', she lives in Mudgee and grows the most AMAZING garden roses, by amazing, I mean the most beautiful, fluffiest, most fragant, glorious roses I've ever seen!!  After months of stalking her Instagram feed, she invited me out to drool over them in real life… saying I was a little excited is a bit of an understatement! 

Back in January, I finally had a free weekend, so I asked my friend Sophie and her husband George to come along with boyfriend Matteo and I, and we made a weekend road trip of it. Flowers, food & wine.. yes please! 

After four and a bit hours on the road, we got there and met the gorgeous Tanya and her friend Lara (together they run a DELISH catering company - Mudgee Made).  Tanya let me grab my cutters, handed me her rose basket and let me go wild in the garden.. I was so excited!!  It was absolutely gorgeous and I had free rein of picking through the beds!

The excitement (and picking!) defiantly wasn't over, but it was time for a little break. Lara bought out the most gorgeous hand made flat bread and dips, lamb sausage rolls and mini merangs topped with vanilla bean cream, raspberries and freshly picked peaches from her garden.. I was pretty much having one of the best days of my life and it wasnt even 1 o'clock yet!

After our aaaamazing treats, while Soph was shooting all the floral beauty and gorgeousness of Tanya's farm, I got flowering and taught a mini lesson on cake toppers and arrangements with Tanya.

How delicious looking are Lara's cakes?? And yes, those sausage rolls did taste as good as they looked! 

An endless supply of foliages and textures including wattle, berries, asparagus and strawberry leaves were so much fun to play with!!

HUGE thank you to Tanya for letting us visit & Lara for the most beautiful food!!  It was such a memorable day & I really can not wait to visit again!  

Bouquet Inspiration | Shoot with The Littlest Things

A couple of weeks ago I went to visit my amazingly talented friend Soph for breaky and a mini inspiration shoot..  I wouldn't choose anyone else when it comes to shooting my work, she's is incredible! Every time, always!  Soph has the most perfect sun room, white, country style windows and filled with the most gorgeous natural light.. So perfect to shoot flowers!

Into the Woods

So this is my first ever post! Woohoo! Im so excited!!  After months of procrastination and trying to figure out how to 'blog' I'm here.. yaay!

One of the main reasons I wanted to start a journal of my work life is to share with you, my floral travels, all the photos I receive from shoots and little projects I work on with other super talented creatives.  And also, because VERY SOON I'll be heading to the Washington State, to attend the summer wild flower workshop at Floret ..  I'm so excited I almost can't hand it! 

Aaaanyway! 

A little while back I was asked if I'd like to collaborate on a shoot with 35mm Photography and so of course I answered back "EEP! YES!!" .. I've been a big fan on Daniel and Lyndel's work for ages so of course I jumped on the opportunity to work with these incredible photographers.  They were heading up to Sydney from Melbourne and so I created some florals for the shoot - "INTO THE WOODS".  It was such a fun, relaxed day, I look forward to working with this talented group again!
